SOP Templates & Tools
The Laboratory Hazard Assessment Tool (LHAT) has been created as part of the University of New Mexico’s commitment to a culture of safety. The LHAT must be completed by the Principal Investigator (PI) or lab manager in order to identify hazards specific to the activities in their laboratories. The LHAT identifies hazards to employees and specifies the personal protective equipment (PPE) required to protect employees during work in the lab. The PI should review the completed LHAT with their laboratory group. This completed form should be submitted to Environmental Health & Safety at ehsweb-L@unm.edu.
