Chemical Safety Guidelines
The safe use of chemicals in laboratories is regulated by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Laboratory Standard among other regulations.
Local building codes mandate Maximum Allowable Quantities of certain hazardous chemicals. All hazardous chemicals must be inventoried. Additional special licensing, registration, security or handling provisions apply to Chemicals of Interest, Select Agent Toxins, Controlled Substances, radioactive materials, high risk toxic gases and chemical waste.
